RHAM Youth Lacrosse places the highest possible priority on the safety of our players.   The safety of our players depends upon a partnership between parents, coaches, and the Board of Directors, all focusing on ensuring that our players enjoy lacrosse in the safest possible environment.  Please review the following information about what we can all do to keep our players safe:

  • Our concussion management policy (click to review) outlines information about concussions for athletes, parents and coaches, and outlines our process for handling a situation in which a concussion is suspected.
  • Our coaches undergo significant ongoing training in concussion management.

Parents, please take the time to educate yourself about the symptoms of concussions.   The Centers for Disease Control offers a fact sheet for parents about concussions and lacrosse: http://www.cdc.gov/headsup/pdfs/sports/lacrosse_fact-sheets_parents.pdf.

US Lacrosse also publishes extensive information and research about many aspects of lacrosse player safety.  Click to view the US Lacrosse website: http://www.uslacrosse.org/about-the-sport/health-safety.aspx

Please contact your child's coach or any member of the RYL Board of Directors if you have any questions about player safety.  And please click to review information about how to notify the league if your child is injured during a practice or game.
